Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale 1.4TB Review
Only Second to the 2011 European car of the year, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale is a beautiful car. The Alfa Romeo Giulietta beats its rivals on looks. Giulietta, an Italian name that means ‘youthful’. The Alfa Romeo Giulietta resembles the traditional Italian car looks. The distinctive front grille and the unique headlamps stand out the most. All the trims come with LED headlamps, traction control, remote locking.
Giulietta Sprint Speciale Looks Gorgeous.
Of all the trims available apart from the top-of-the-range edition – Veloce. We select the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale for our review. It comes with loveable options. If your favourite car is the Giulietta, then you will know that to have most of these options, will cost your pocket thousands of pounds.
The model in the picture is a 2015 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale 1.4TB Automatic. You get the sports seats, sports pedals, rear parking sensors, colour-coded mirrors, audio remote, 18inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, cruise control. What you do not get is the double exhaust, satellite navigator, and armrest.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta Stereo Sound Quality
The stereo in the sprint speciale is not equipped with satnav. It has Bluetooth and a dab radio. The sound quality is quite good. It has a sound quality similar to that of the Mercedes CLA. On Mercedes CLA, you can take the sound to a very high level without busting your speakers and not reaching the maximum point. The Romeo Giulietta has a very good sound quality coming from a Bose system. You get a good sound up to 95 percent of the maximum volume.
The bose sound system is not available on all trims. You can upgrade your stereo upon purchasing it from new. In my opinion, the sound quality in the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale is better than that of the BMW 3 Series F30.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sports Seat.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale come with sports seats. The sports is only present on these trims – Sprint Speciale, Veloce and some Business, Exclusive models.
The seats are lovely with Alfa Romeo’s name engrossed in the seats. It feels and looks quality. However, I do have some reservations about the comfort if driven on a long journey. I had more comfort with the standard seats on other trims. This is what you get in most sports seats anyways. They are not ideal for long journeys.
Driving in Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale
The Sprint Speciale comes with an 18inch alloy wheel. Same that you find on the Alfa Romeo Brera. A grey matt finish with a bit of glossy shine. You should expect to change your tyres often than usual. This is due to the suspension and wheel size on the Sprint Speciale. Business, Turismo, and Lusso trims are equipped with a softer suspension than the Sprint Speciale, Veloce, Sportiva and Cloverleaf. Nevertheless, the beauty on the outside is greater than the little suspension cost to comfort.
The cabin is a bit noisy too and there is not a lot support on the sides of the driver seats. The door mat is made with fiberglass and interior feels dark. The interior has black seats, ceiling and doors. It is dark inside and you get limited rear visibility.
Running Cost on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.4TB
Let’s point out that Alfa Romeo Giulietta is ULEZ compliant. This model is a 1.4 turbo petrol. It pulls like a wanna-be sports car and returns good miles per gallon. You could get around 45miles per gallon on the motorway and around 36 miles per gallon on short trips.
How much is the road tax? it is £20 a year. The insurance cost is also low with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.4TB. What this implies is that both young and new drivers may want to consider the Sprint Speciale. The only challenge that prospective buyer may face is getting your hands on one if buying a used one. At the time of this, the average dealer price for this trim is listed around £12,000. The Alfa Romeo Sprint Speciale is a rare trim. One that most owners do not change hands often.
Common Problems With The Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
